Dodgers News: Justin Turner, Andre Ethier & Adrian Gonzalez Agree On Super Bowl LVI Predictions

The Los Angeles Rams face the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, becoming only the second team in NFL history to play the game on their home field.

The Rams are looking to capture their second Super Bowl title in franchise history and first in L.A. They are slight favorites to hoist the Lombardi Trophy, but will have their hands full with a talented Bengals offense that is led by former LSU standouts Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase.

L.A. Dodgers All-Star Justin Turner believes the Rams will pull out a close victory in the final minutes. “I think it’s going to be 27-24, Rams,” he predicted. “It’s going to be a field goal (late in the game) to win it.”

Turner is considering attending Super Bowl 56 but may ultimately opt to watch the game at home. “I don’t know yet. I’m thinking about it, but my couch sounds a lot better,” Turner said.

“There’s not any bad views in SoFi, that would just be three or four hours of chaos. I’ve never been to a Super Bowl, so this would make sense to be the once since it’s in L.A., but I don’t know. After doing these events, I think my couch is going to be the better option.”

Former Dodgers outfielder Andre Ethier also has the Rams defeating the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI, but by a slightly larger margin. “I’ve got Rams all day,” he said from the sixth annual Justin Turner Golf Classic.

“I’m a de facto Rams fan. Didn’t really have a football team growing up, the Rams got here and my 11-year-old instantly loved the Rams.

“He wears his (Aaron) Donald jersey every Sunday when the Rams are playing, so we definitely cheer for the Rams in our house. My other son is a Cardinals fan, so that goes back and forth pretty heated. I’ve got 24-17, Rams all day. I think it’s about time we add a championship on the Lombardi side for L.A.”

Former Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, who recently announced his retirement, also predicted a Rams victory in Super Bowl LVI. “That’s a hard one,” he began.

“I’d like to see Aaron Donald win a Super Bowl. From a fan perspective, I really like everything that he did in the championship game. But you can never count out Joe Burrow. The guy is a winner.

“He won at LSU, he was winning until he was out last year, and he’s got something special with him. He’s definitely got the swag. He’s smoking the cigars like Joc and he’s rocking his chains, although they’re not pearls. He’s a winner, so you can never count him out.

“I would think that the Rams are going to win. They’re the more talented team and they’re at home, but I guess you can never count out the Bengals. I guess if I had to make a prediction, I’d say the Rams will win by 10 points or so.”

Kershaw attending Super Bowl LVI to support Stafford

Dodgers free agent Clayton Kershaw confirmed he will attend Super Bowl LVI to support Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Kershaw and Stafford have a friendship that dates back to playing together on youth sports teams in the Dallas area. Kershaw has attended several of Stafford’s games in years past, and the favor was returned last season when the quarterback was in attendance at Dodger Stadium for the left-hander’s return from the 60-day injured list.
