Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder and his girlfriend Chase Carter are expecting their second child together. The announcement was made by Carter on Instagram, but she did not specify when the child is due.
The two welcomed their first daughter, Caiden Carter Bellinger, into the world on Nov. 30, 2021. Bellinger and Carter began dating in late 2020 and announced they were expecting their first child about one year later in July 2021.
That announcement was also made by Carter while she was wishing Bellinger a happy 26th birthday. After they began dating, Carter joined him in the postseason bubble when the Dodgers won the 2020 World Series at Globe Life Field.
The 25-year-old is well-known for her work as a model for brands such as Pink and Polo Ralph Lauren, and she has appeared in numerous publications, including the 2018 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and been on the cover of Maxim magazine.
The 27-year-old Bellinger is entering the final season of team control with the Dodgers, but after another challenging year, he could be a candidate to be non-tendered, which would make him a free agent.
The 2019 National League MVP was sixth on the Dodgers with 19 home runs and played elite defense, but he batted just .210/.265/.389 in 144 games played following a .165/.240/.302 season in 2021.
Will & Cara Smith welcome first child
Will Smith and his wife Cara welcomed their first child, Charlotte Ann Smith, in the morning hours before the Dodgers faced the San Diego Padres in Game 4 of the National League Division Series.
The Dodgers made the announcement on Twitter just over an hour and a half before first pitch at Petco Park, which unexpectedly was delayed due to inclement weather.
The Fox Sports 1 (FS1) broadcast relayed Smith drove up to Los Angeles in the middle of the night when Cara went into labor. She gave birth shortly before 11 a.m. on Saturday, and the Dodgers arranged a helicopter ride for Smith back to San Diego.
This past April, the Smiths announced they were expecting their first child, and in the birth announcement, Cara alluded to Charlotte Ann arriving earlier than expected.
