Dodgers News: Chris Taylor Doesn’t Expect To Miss Time Despite Leaving Game Vs. Cubs Due To Left Hamstring Tightness

After coming back to beat the Chicago Cubs in the series opener on Tuesday afternoon, the Los Angeles Dodgers dropped the final two games of the series, including being shut out, 4-0, in Wednesday’s rubber match.

The Dodgers have a day off on Thursday before beginning a three-game series against the New York Mets at Citi Field. The travel day will be much-needed considering a few players on the team are currently banged up.

One of those players is Chris Taylor, who left Wednesday’s game in the sixth inning due to left hamstring tightness. It appears the injury is not all that series though, as according to David Vassegh of AM 570 L.A. Sports, Taylor said he expects to be available for the series against the Mets:

Chris Taylor expects to play in #Mets series. Doesn’t anticipate his hamstring to force him to miss any of the games this weekend. #Dodgers

Taylor went 1-for-3 with a double in the game before being removed. He fouled a ball off his foot/ankle in the first inning, although that is not believed to have anything to do with the hamstring injury.

If time goes by and the hamstring continues to be an issue, Kiké Hernandez would be Taylor’s replacement at shortstop.

Meanwhile, Chase Utley is expected to return from the disabled list this weekend, which would aid the infield depth if Taylor is limited moving forward.
