The Los Angeles Dodgers are sponsoring the Hispanas Organized For Political Equity annual Latina History Day Conference at the Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles on Friday. HOPE’s annual conference hosts approximately 1,000 women to recognize historic and current achievements of Latinas.

SportsNet LA’s Alanna Rizzo is serving as emcee and moderator of a panel discussion on Latinas in sports and entertainment. Rizzo will lead the panel discussion and be joined by vice president of Nike West Territory Blanca Gonzalez and vice president of studio production and operations for Fox Sports.

Dodgers vice president of external affairs and community relations Naomi Rodriguez is also among those on the panel. The participants will share insight and knowledge on their careers in sports and entertainment.

Rizzo received the “HOPE Rising” award last December for her leadership and innovation in her field while representing the Latina community.

Rizzo, a three-time regional Emmy Award winner, completed her second season with the SportsNet LA Dodgers broadcast team in 2015. She previously worked for MLB Network and ROOT Sports Rocky Mountain in Denver.

HOPE is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization committed to ensuring political and economic parity for Latinas through leadership, advocacy, and education to benefit all communities and the status of women.
