Miguel Rojas Not Concerned By Potential Leg Injury

Miguel Rojas was celebrated for his 2025 World Series Game 7 heroics on Friday night, but it ended up being a painful game for the veteran shortstop.

Rojas appeared to injure his leg on two separate occasions while facing the Atlanta Braves, and he was seen limping around a bit. The 37-year-old stayed in the game after both occasions, but he exited in the seventh inning for Hyeseong Kim.

“In the first inning, when I hit the ball, I kind of slipped a little bit out of the box, and I felt a little something on my leg. And then when I got hit at second base on the double play ball, I kind of had a dead leg sensation,” Rojas explained.

“So anyways, Doc told me that I was going to get one more at-bat against (Chris) Sale, and I was going to get out of the game to get some treatment. I should be fine for the rest of the week.”

Despite taking Rojas out of the game early, Roberts expects the veteran to be back in the lineup when the Dodgers face the next left-handed starter on the schedule, which is likely to be Robbie Ray of the San Francisco Giants.

“No concern,” Roberts said. “I’m not sure what the scientific word is, but it was kind of like a hip flexor, quad thing. So got him out there, got him out of the game, got Kim in there. Hopefully, he’ll be back in there against (Robbie) Ray.”

Rojas went 0-for-3 in his start, but reached base via an error and scored a run. He also showed his leg wasn’t too much of a concern when he tried to make a jumping throw across his body while playing defense. Rojas additionally scored from second base on Shohei Ohtani’s hard-hit single.

The two-time World Series champion has appeared in 25 games this season, hitting .259/.302/.362 with five RBI and five runs scored.

Miguel Rojas re-considering retirement?

Rojas previously announced the 2026 season would be his final one in MLB. However, if the Dodgers complete a three-peat, Rojas shared he might reconsider his decision.

The 13-year veteran is still confident in his ability to continue playing at a high level, but he decided it is nearly time to retire because he felt that would be the best decision for his family.
