The third day of the 2024 Los Angeles Dodgers Love L.A. Community Tour featured plenty of Joe Kelly and wife Ashley, who first took part in a pep rally at Corona High School before making their way to a Jack in the Box location in Ontario, California.
Members of 92.3 FM’s “The Cruz Show” — J. Cruz, Jeff Garcia, DJ Lechero, Jackie Ramirez and DJ Fuze — hosted the pep rally at Kelly’s alma mater. They helped entertain roughly 800 student athletes during an hour-long event that featured games and check donation to the school.
Kelly joined the festivities just as a group of students were about to participate in a halfcourt shooting contest with an opportunity to win Dodgers tickets for a home game during the 2024 season.
Kelly put his own twist on the competition by giving the final participant an ultimatum. Kelly said if he made the shot, the students would not get tickets to a game. But if the student missed, the tickets would be theirs.
“But if Jordan makes it, he would be the only one who could say he beat me one-on-one in a halfcourt shot. You would be the man,” Kelly reasoned.

The student wound up purposely missing, much to the delight of his peers.
There were more cheers when the Kellys were challenged to a dance battle, and although they may have fell short, it was not without a valiant effort.
“I thought I was thrown out to the wolves, honestly,” Ashley told DodgerBlue.com. “I didn’t know we would be battling. Joe throws me out there like, ‘Ashley, go!’ But honestly, me and Joe, we like to dance. So it was like, do we kick it old school and bust out some old dance routines?
“I think we held our own and were OK. But we’re a little older, so I made sure to stay high and not go too low.”
The Dodgers made a $5,000 donation to Corona High School, which was matched by the Kellys in order to help fund the baseball team’s participation in the USA Baseball National High School Invitational.
The event marked the Dodgers’ first ever visit to the Inland Empire during their annual community tour.
Joe Kelly & wife Ashley meet fans
After thrilling students, Joe and Ashley Kelly made their way to a Jack in the Box, where they took orders, served food and posed for photos with fans.
The Kellys made their way to both events in the Porsche that was gifted to Ashley from Shohei Ohtani as a thank you for taking No. 17 with the Dodgers.
