Walker Buehler was among several Los Angeles Dodgers players who thanked fans on social media after the team got eliminated from the National League Championship Series, but on Monday he took a broader view to 2021.

Buehler shared a carousel of photos on Instagram from last year, which included reflecting on being in uniform for the Dodgers and a tuxedo for his wedding. He previously offered fans an inside look at the wedding ceremony McKenzie and Buehler planned for friends, family and teammates.

Among highlights involving the Dodgers in his latest post, Buehler shared pictures of starting pitchers as “Sons of Anarchy” characters for the team’s annual dress-up day, and celebrating in the clubhouse after winning the National League Wild Card Game.

Buehler, Clayton Kershaw, Max Scherzer and Julio Urias garnered plenty of praise for dressing as a biker gang. In explaining their theme, Buehler joked his focus was on finding costumes that highlighted how much younger he and Urias are compared to Kershaw and Scherzer.

As for matters on the field, Buehler went 16-4 with a 2.47 ERA, 3.16 FIP and 0.97 WHIP over a career-high 33 starts. He earned a second career All-Star Game selection and finished in fourth place for the 2021 NL Cy Young Award.

Buehler achieved career first in postseason

After making the most starts he ever had in a single year, Buehler accomplished another first by starting on short rest in the postseason — ultimately doing so twice.

The first instance came in Game 4 against the San Francisco Giants in the NL Division Series, which helped the Dodgers stave off elimination. Then with the team in the NL Championship Series, Buehler stepped up on short rest in Game 6 when Max Scherzer was unable to take the ball.
