Teoscar Hernández has not yet returned to the Los Angeles Dodgers lineup, but manager Dave Roberts is optimistic that will occur in the coming days.

The team is also poised to activate Yoshinobu Yamamoto off the 60-day injured list on Tuesday, Brusdar Graterol will follow, and Tyler Glasnow continues to trend in a positive direction.

Injuries and getting healthy figure to have a significant impact on the Dodgers in the postseason as they make progress toward winning a National League West title for the 11th time in the past 12 years.

Dodgers updates

Teoscar Hernández

Hernández has missed the past three games because of a left foot contusion he suffered as a result of getting hit by a pitch. There was initial concern Hernández sustained a significant injury, but X-rays, CT scan and MRI all came back negative.

“Thank God there’s nothing broken,” Hernández said on Saturday. “Just take the day (off) today, do some activities tomorrow to see how it’s going, and maybe Monday or Tuesday be back on the field.”

While Monday was the earliest Hernández would return to the Dodgers lineup, Tuesday and possibly even Wednesday appeared more likely given the swelling and soreness.

It also wouldn’t come as much of a surprise if Hernández didn’t play until the Dodgers begin their road trip against the Atlanta Braves on Friday night.

Roberts said he is “hopeful” to have Hernández back in the lineup on Tuesday.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto

Yoshinobu Yamamoto remains on track to be reinstated Tuesday for a start against the Chicago Cubs. He made two starts for Triple-A Oklahoma City while on rehab assignment and more recently threw a bullpen session in preparation for his return.

Yamamoto last pitched for the Dodgers on June 15. He was officially placed on the 15-day injured list because of right triceps tightness, but Yamamoto and Roberts described the injury as being a rotator cuff issue.

Brusdar Graterol

There was an expectation Graterol would be activated during the weekend series against the Cleveland Guardians, but that’s been delayed until Wednesday.

Graterol suffered a right hamstring strain in his 2024 debut last month and as a result has thrown just eight pitches this season.

Graterol’s start to the season was delayed by right shoulder trouble.

Tyler Glasnow

Glasnow is scheduled to throw a second bullpen session on Tuesday afternoon, and if that goes well, he will advance to facing batters in a simulated game on Friday.

Glasnow’s first bullpen session since his right elbow tendinitis was approximately 20 pitches and limited to just fastballs. The right-hander is expected to use his entire pitch mix on Tuesday.
