The Los Angeles Dodgers have been without Blake Treinen since August 5 when he was placed on the 15-day injured list with left hip discomfort.
Although he became the latest Dodgers pitcher to land on the IL, it was not believed to be serious and he was expected to make a quick return.
Treinen is eligible to return to the club on Tuesday, and it seems that will be the day he returns. According to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, the Dodgers plan to activate Treinen when he is first eligible:
Dave Roberts said Max Muncy will fly to Los Angeles and there’s a chance he’s activated tomorrow instead of Tuesday.
Plan is still for Tommy Edman to be activated tomorrow, and Blake Treinen to be active on Tuesday.

When Treinen returns, the Dodgers will be in need of some more roster shuffling. Ben Casparius seems likely to be the first man optioned to Triple-A, but they could also opt to use the IL and give one of their relievers a break.
With Bobby Miller and Walker Buehler both in the rotation, having Casparius could prove to be beneficial to provide length out of the bullpen.
Treinen made 34 appearances with the Dodgers this season before going on the IL. He posted a 2.67 ERA, 3.89 FIP and 1.09 WHIP in 30.1 innings while striking out 38 hitters and holding batters to a .212 batting average.
The right-hander has been in the Majors 10 seasons with the Washington Nationals (2014-17), Oakland Athletics (2017-19) and Dodgers (2020-24), pitching to a 2.85 ERA in 483 games. He has 80 career saves with 542 strikeouts.
Treinen missed all of the 2023 season, but has rebounded to have a strong year in 2024. However, he has dealt with some issues over his last seven games, posting a 4.76 ERA with a total of three runs allowed on July 27 and 30 in 1.1 innings.
Blake Treinen thinks Dodgers benefit from tough schedule
The Dodgers are in the midst of a tough slate of games, previously facing the Philadelphia Phillies and Milwaukee Brewers while still having matchups against the Seattle Mariners, Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles to finish out the month.
With the Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres playing quality baseball, the Dodgers find themselves in a close National League West race.
With their tough schedule and opponents on their tail, Treinen believes the Dodgers are more focused and it’s beneficial to them.
