Upon completing a three-game sweep of the Colorado Rockies at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers extended their lead in the National League West to a season-high 2.5 games. One week later, they find themselves trailing the Rockies by a half-game.
Colorado responded to the sweep by rattling off six consecutive wins; two of which have come against a seemingly deflated Philadelphia Phillies team. Meanwhile, the Dodgers went 3-3 over that same stretch, and are fresh of dropping back-to-back games at Chase Field.
Their defeat on Wednesday night was particularly frustrating as the Dodgers jumped out to a 2-0 lead by the second inning but were ultimately unable to capitalize on Zack Greinke not having his best stuff.
Making matters worse, Justin Turner was sent for an X-ray on his left thumb that came back negative, according to Bill Plunkett of the Southern California News Group:

Turner has unfortunately been a bit of a magnet for injuries since sustaining a fractured left wrist during Spring Training. He’s dealt with residual swelling in the wrist, suffered from groin trouble, and was recently hit again in the same area of his left arm.
That came during a stretch where Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he intended to keep Turner in the lineup for the remainder of the season, and that has held true thus far. With the Dodgers still fighting for their postseason lives, Turner figures to start in every game this weekend.
The team has an off day Thursday, which should aid matters if he’s still dealing with swelling.
