Dodgers Injury News: Rich Hill Says Blister Feels ‘Great’ After Rehab Start With High-A Rancho Cucamonga

The Los Angeles Dodgers starting rotation is currently in need of reinforcements, and they could be on the way as Rich Hill made a rehab start on Thursday night with High-A Rancho Cucamonga.

Hill is dealing with blister issues for the third straight season, with every time he pitches being a risk of it re-opening and him being forced to go back on the disabled list.

It appears that he passed that test on Thursday night though, as he said that he came out of the start without any issues, which means that he could be activated next week to start in Chicago against the Cubs, via the Quakes official Twitter account:

When Rich Hill was asked about his blister, he not only said it's "great", but he willingly raised it up to the reporters, almost to inspect it for themselves.

Hill was able to get through 4.2 innings in the game while throwing 75 pitches. He gave up four hits and two unearned runs while striking out 10 without issuing a walk, although the results were not nearly as important as him coming out of it feeling healthy.

If the Dodgers had five healthy starters then perhaps Hill’s next outing would be another rehab game. But with so many starters out due to injury, the Dodgers desperately need Hill to pitch in a Major League game his next time around.

The Dodgers upcoming rotation is shaping up to be Ross Stripling, Alex Wood and Caleb Ferguson, in that order, pitching the three games this weekend against the San Francisco Giants, followed by Kenta Maeda on Monday and Hill on Tuesday to open up their series against the Cubs.
