The Los Angeles Dodgers have dealt with a rash of injuries throughout the season but could be a week away from getting closer to full strength.

At present time, the likes of Walker Buehler, Tyler Cyr, J.P. Feyereisen, Daniel Hudson, Gavin Lux, Dustin May, Shelby Miller, Max Muncy, Jimmy Nelson, Ryan Pepiot, Alex Reyes, Noah Syndergaard, Blake Treinen, Trayce Thompson and Julio Urías all are on the injured list.

Cyr, Lux and Reyes have all been ruled out for the entire season. Buehler, Feyereisen, May, Nelson, Pepiot, Synergaard, Treinen and Thompson are each facing a prolonged process to return.

Miller is expected to be out for at least three weeks, but the likes of Hudson, Muncy and Urías should soon be activated. Chris Taylor remained limited by a right knee injury and now is going on the IL.

Dodgers injuries

Daniel Hudson

After beginning a rehab assignment with the Arizona Complex League Dodgers, Hudson recently joined Triple-A Oklahoma City. Overall, he’s thrown seven scoreless innings and collected 10 strikeouts in seven games (five starts).

More encouraging for Hudson and the Dodgers, his left knee did not cause any trouble after a back-to-back appearance.

“It’s something that we tried months ago, and it just wasn’t happening. He wasn’t responding well,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. “To see now the body is responding to the back-to-back, the up-down, really encouraging.”

Hudson is expected to return to the ACL for an appearance on Tuesday and remains on track to be activated during next weekend’s series against the Kansas City Royals.

Max Muncy

When the Dodgers backdated Muncy’s IL stint, it left him eligible to be reinstated Friday. Roberts expected that to be the case, particularly after Muncy faced Julio Urías in live batting practice during the Freeway Series, but some trouble lingered with his left hamstring strain.

“He’s doing well. A little bit better today, but still feels just a little bit of tightness. I don’t think we feel comfortable to run him out there. Day-to-day, I guess,” Roberts said.

“Went through the whole workout, still feels it when he goes full-speed running. So I think the thought is I just don’t see him being active tomorrow, and hold out some hope for Sunday. It’s more making sure we all feel really confident he can play and sustain health.”

Muncy then took at-bats against Noah Syndergaard in a simulated game on Saturday, and now isn’t expected to be activated until Tuesday.

Julio Urías

Like with Hudson, the Dodgers anticipate activating Urías off the 15-day IL during the Royals series. Prior to that point, the left-hander is joining Single-A Rancho Cucamonga for a rehab start on Sunday.

“Julio, four (innings) and 60 (pitches) in Rancho,” Roberts said. “He just threw kind of an easy side session, and the ball is coming out really well.”

Chris Taylor

Although Taylor avoided the IL since being removed early on June 16 because of right knee pain, he had been limited to pinch-hitting.

Taylor is dealing with a bone bruise along with cartilage damage that was treated with a cortisone injection. The Dodgers hoped he would be able to play the field by the start of the Houston Astros series, but that’s not been the case.

“Chris is doing well. Still a little balky, more so on the infield and lateral versus straight-ahead running. Swinging doesn’t bother him, outfield is better for him,” Roberts said.

Taylor was cleared for any role the Dodgers needed as of Saturday’s game, but now is going on the 15-day IL. Yonny Hernández is getting recalled.
