Dodgers Included In REEF X MLB Collection Of Men’s & Women’s Sandals

The start of 2021 Spring Training was accompanied by REEF, the industry leader in comfortable beach-inspired footwear, and Major League Baseball teaming up to launch a collection of men’s and women’s sandals that gives fans another means to express themselves.

While REEF has a long history of collaborations, this marked the first with a professional sports league. “This new collaboration was a natural fit, as the spring and summer seasons are instrumental for both REEF and MLB,” REEF president Mike Jensen told DodgerBlue.com.

“Warmer weather inspires us to break out our favorite sandals, just as spring training is kicking off. We’re excited that the REEF X MLB collaboration will give baseball fans another way to support their favorite teams.”

The Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants and Texas Rangers were the seven teams selected for launch of the REEF x MLB collection.

“We are continuing our partnership with the MLB and are already planning our 2022 collection,” Jensen revealed. “We’ve received an overwhelmingly positive response for the collection so far and absolutely plan to expand our product offerings to include more MLB teams! So, if your team wasn’t featured in our first collection, stay tuned!”

Until then, fans of the aforementioned teams can purchase the REEF x MLB collection in both the Fanning (men’s) and Bliss (women’s) sandals.

“The decision to use the Fanning as the men’s style for the collection was a no-brainer. What baseball fan wouldn’t want to sport a built-in bottle opener to their next tailgate?,” Jensen said.

“The Fanning is arguably one of the most iconic sandals on the market because of the built-in bottle opener and as our most popular men’s sandal, we knew it would be great fit for this audience. The Fanning also has an airbag under the heel providing sustained support and comfort, as well as a wider strap for a great look and incredible fit.

“We chose to include our sleek Bliss flip flop as the women’s style because it’s stylish, simple and comfortable. It features a soft foam footbed for cushion, as well as slim, smooth straps. The Bliss flip flop is not only lightweight but it’s also durable, so it’s perfect for a long day of walking around the baseball stadium, and in general, is a crowd-pleasing style.”

The REEF x MLB collection is available on REEF.com, with women’s styles retailing from $35 and men’s for $70.

Dodgers approved for more than 11,000 fans at Dodger Stadium

As L.A. County continues to administer more coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccinations and the average of new positive cases declines, the Dodgers were approved to welcome 11,200 fans — 20% capacity — per game at Dodger Stadium.

Moving into the red tier will additionally allow for the team to offer concessions at home games. The Dodgers start the season on the road for Opening Day and play seven games before their home opener against the Washington Nationals on April 9.
