The Los Angeles Dodgers are hosting a strength and conditioning symposium at Dodger Stadium in December, providing participants with an opportunity to train with the same award-winning staff that oversees the organization’s players.

The inaugural event is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 14 and 15, and registration is open now.

“We are excited to share the ideas and experience that have helped shape our philosophy of how we prepare our players to perform at a high level, day in and day out, over a 162+ game season” Dodgers director of athletic development and performance science Brandon McDaniel said.

The two-day event will give participants an inside look into how the Dodgers’ philosophy of athletic development has helped identify, train and continue to develop the physical aspects needed to perform at the highest level of baseball over a sustained period of time.

Led by McDaniel and his staff, the event will provide insight into the Dodgers’ use movement analysis, technology, performance and skill metrics to develop and train athletes from teenagers all the way to the Majors.

Along with McDaniel, participants will receive instruction from Dodgers strength and conditioning coach Travis Smith, sports science coordinator Kate Weiss, athletic development coordinator Eric Yavarone, and Minor League strength and conditioning coordinator Brian Stoneberg.

The symposium is approved as Continuing Education Units by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and will include presentations and practical learning sessions in the Dodgers’ weight room, batting cage, bullpen and on the field.

All of the material covered will be relevant for training baseball players in the high school, college or professional ranks. The event will address diagnostics, interventions, orientation/breathing/soft tissue exercises, mobility and stability training, fundamental movement, strength and power, workload and recovery, and a trade show with team vendors.

Lastly, participants will additionally receive a tour of Dodger Stadium and a Dodgers gift bag.
