The Los Angeles Dodgers are hosting separate meet and greet events at local WSS stores on Saturday, featuring Austin Barnes and Steve Sax. Both begin at 10 a.m. PT and feature VIP line access for fans that make at least a $35 purchase in store.

The WSS stores hosting the Dodgers are in Perris (2660 N. Perris Blvd., Perris, CA 92571) and Moreno Valley (24175 Hemlock, Moreno Valley, CA 92577). Along with photo opportunities, the events will feature music, prizes, gifts and more.

Barnes just completed an eighth season with the Dodgers and he remains under contract through 2024 after signing an extension this past July.

Barnes currently is the longest-tenured player in the Dodgers organization, but will again fall behind Clayton Kershaw in that regard once his contract to re-sign is made official. Justin Turner would also be more tenured with the Dodgers if he re-signs.

Sax was selected by the Dodgers in the ninth round of the 1978 MLB Draft and he spent eight seasons with the team. During that time Sax was three-time All-Star and won two World Series.

Along with Eric Karros, Sax threw out the ceremonial first pitch before Game 1 of the National League Division Series against the San Diego Padres.

Prior to that, he represented the Dodgers at the 2022 MLB Draft as one of the 17 players to attend the event at L.A. Live.

Dodgers partnership with WSS

The Dodgers announced a partnership with WSS that began last year with Andre Ethier making a special appearance at a Los Angeles location for the re-release of the famed Nike Cortez Los Angeles.

It first launched for Opening Day of the 2021 regular season, and has been back in the spotlight as some players wore custom cleats modeled after the shoe with the Dodgers Nike City Connect uniform.
