The 2021 Los Angeles Dodgers Holiday Zoom party featured appearances by Gavin Lux, Max Muncy, AJ Pollock and Justin Turner among others, with the topic of conversation ranging from the most memorable moment this past season to favorite Thanksgiving dish.

For Lux, his initial response to the top highlight this year was Chris Taylor’s walk-off home run agains the St. Louis Cardinals in the Wild Card Game. However, Lux caught himself and said it was a coin flip with Cody Bellinger’s go-ahead RBI single in the National League Division Series.

“I was trying to be ready when my number was called. These are the type of moments that you dream about and you live for, and to be able to look back on this for the rest of my life, I’m just fortunate that I was able to come through in that spot,” Taylor said after the win.

Pollock also mentioned Taylor’s game-winning home run as his favorite moment of the 2021 season, while Trea Turner and Alex Vesia went with Max Scherzer converting a save in Game 5 of the NLDS.

Meanwhile, Orel Hershiser and Edwin Rios went with the World Series ring ceremony that was held before the team’s first home game and represented their first opportunity to celebrate with fans.

Although it wasn’t a single moment from the season, Muncy mentioned having fans back at games was something he appreciated this year. He also reflected fondly on playing with Albert Pujols.

“Getting to be teammates with Albert was pretty special,” Muncy said. “Seeing him return in St. Louis was one of the coolest things I got to be a part of.”

Kasten appreciative of Dodgers fans

The Dodgers led baseball in attendance for an eight consecutive season — excluding 2020 when fans were not permitted.

Team president and CEO Stan Kasten attributed that support to a strong relationship with the community, which has afforded the Dodgers to be more aggressive with spending on the roster and Dodger Stadium upgrades.
