The recent Los Angeles Holiday Zoom party hosted by Joe Davis and Alanna Rizzo featured interviews with the likes of manager Dave Roberts, Cody Bellinger, Clayton Kershaw and Corey Knebel, among others.
The topics of discussion naturally centered around the holiday season, family traditions and a bit of reflecting with Christmas as a child. For Bellinger, it memorably entailed receiving his first electric scooter.
He immediately went to ride it but that was short-lived, as Bellinger broke the back wheel while attempting to brake. Bellinger admitted to heading home and crying over his now-broken scooter.
As for the present, the 25-year-old lived up to his reputation as an avid gamer and said the perfect gift this year would be upgrading his Xbox One console with a pc. Bellinger, Austin Barnes, Walker Buehler and Gavin Lux are among Dodgers who regularly play video games.
Although the group bands together in a virtual setting, there’s been plenty of disagreement over who from the bunch is best. Lux, presumably in part because of his rookie status this year, often bore the brunt of friendly criticism.
Though, Max Muncy recently posted a video of himself laughing at Bellinger’s Otta Sluggasson character in “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.”
Bellinger recovering well from shoulder surgery
Bellinger’s appearance on the Dodgers Holiday Zoom Party eventually shifted to an update on his recovery from right shoulder surgery, which is going well during the rehab process at Camelback Ranch.
“Not every day, but Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday,” Bellinger said of his visits to the Dodgers’ Spring Training facility.
“I won’t be doing anymore elbow high fives. But even if I do, I think it will be sturdy when the season comes.”
Bellinger may be somewhat limited when camp opens next year, but that could easily change if MLB is forced to delay the start of Spring Training.
