Dodgers Hire Courtney Moore As Vice President Of Diversity, Equity And Inclusion

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced the hiring of Courtney Moore for the newly created position of vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion. It’s similar to the L.A. Lakers hiring Dr. Karida Brown as the Director of Racial Equity & Action last year.

“The Dodgers are part of the fabric of Los Angeles, and it’s imperative that we represent the great diversity of our City and maintain an inclusive environment for all Angelenos at Dodger Stadium,” Dodgers president & CEO Stan Kasten said in a statement.

“These initiatives are of the utmost importance to our organization and we are thrilled to be able to find someone with Courtney’s experience and expertise to focus, build out and lead our DEI programs.

“She’s been a positive agent of change across multiple industries during the course of her career, and we’re looking forward to learning from her and continuing to develop as an organization.”

Moore has been responsible for the implementation of diversity initiatives for recruitment, retention and inclusion in the finance, engineering and legal industries for more than 20 years. She most recently held the position of director of diversity and inclusion at the Munger, Tolles & Olson law firm.

Moore was responsible for creating and implementing the strategy to enhance the firm’s culture of inclusion.

“These are difficult and challenging times marked by a global pandemic, racial dissension and societal inequities,” she said. “In this climate, I am incredibly honored to work for a pioneering organization that understands the importance of amplifying diversity & inclusion. I look forward to meeting my colleagues and getting to work!”

Moore also has experience in talent acquisition having worked for Special Counsel, Inc. and The Hollins Group in direct hire corporate placements. She additionally was the broadcast and special events coordinator for the Chicago White Sox.

Moore earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami, and also holds a Masters degree in Sports Management from the University of Massachusetts, and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Mount Holyoke College.

Dodgers add Kirsten Watson to broadcast team

Moore is the Dodgers’ second hire in the past week as they previously added Kirsten Watson to the SportsNet LA team as the new reporter and host.
