The Los Angeles Dodgers did what they could to try forcing a Game 163 tiebreaker for the National League West title by defeating the Milwaukee Brewers, 10-3, to close out the regular season on a seven-game winning streak.

Unfortunately for the Dodgers, the San Francisco Giants routed the San Diego Padres to wrap up their first division title since 2012.

Prior to that game going final, Walker Buehler and Trea Turner began putting on a show at Dodger Stadium to help the Dodgers tie a franchise record with 106 wins. The mark was first set by the 2019 club.

Buehler began his start with six strikeouts through two scoreless innings, though the Brewers took a 1-0 lead when Rowdy Tellez and Avisail García opened the fourth with back-to-back doubles.

Buehler kept the damage to a minimum, which allowed the Dodgers to mount their comeback in the fifth inning. A two-out rally started with Chris Taylor’s walk putting the go-ahead run aboard.

After Matt Beaty’s infield single loaded the bases, Mookie Betts walk tied the game. Corey Seager then gave L.A. a lead on an RBI infield single, and Turner landed the knockout punch with his grand slam.

Turner became the first Dodgers player with two grand slams in a three-game stretch since Mike Piazza accomplished the feat on April 9 and 10, 1998.

Turner also gave the Dodgers a new franchise record with 11 grand slams this season, which broke a tie with the 2004 team. On a personal level, he finished with the NL batting crown and also the league lead in hits (195), total bases (319) and stolen bases (32).

Beaty later added an RBI single and three-run home run.

Dodgers set for Wild Card

Next for the Dodgers is a matchup with the St. Louis Cardinals in the Wild Card Game on Wednesday. Max Scherzer and Adam Wainwright are the probables, with first pitch scheduled for 5:10 p.m. PT. TBS has exclusive television rights for a national broadcast.
