Dodgers Highlights: Mookie Betts, Will Smith, Gavin Lux, Max Muncy, Joey Gallo & Cody Bellinger Home Runs Vs. Royals

Mookie Betts, Will Smith, Gavin Lux, Max Muncy, Joey Gallo and Cody Bellinger each hit a home run to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 13-3 win over the Kansas City Royals. The six home runs set a new season high.

Betts opened the scoring with a sixth leadoff home run this season and 35th of his career. Smith connected for a two-run shot in the second inning, Lux sent one into the fountains in the third, and Muncy clubbed his in the fourth.

Muncy led all players with four hits and four RBI on the night. He additionally has hit a home run in three of the last four games.

Prior to the Dodgers breaking the game open with their home run barrage, they scored a run on three straight singles by Muncy, Justin Turner and Lux in the first inning. Royals starter Brad Keller didn’t record an out until his 34th pitch of the game.

The 12-game winning streak is a first for the Dodgers since 1976. The Los Angeles record is a 13-game winning streak, achieved by the 1962 and 1965 teams. The longest Dodgers winning streak in franchise history is 15 games, set in 1924.

If there was one downside, Andrew Heaney only pitched three innings before exiting because of a left arm contusion. He allowed two runs and collected five strikeouts.

Dodgers, Royals celebrate Jackie Robinson

The Dodgers wore their 1955 Brooklyn uniform and the Royals had on the 1945 Monarchs throwback for their annual Negro Leagues celebration at Kauffman Stadium and to recognize the 75th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the MLB color barrier.
