After being shut out in a 1-0 loss on Saturday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers returned the favor with a 5-0 win of their own on Sunday afternoon to avoid the sweep at the hands of the rival San Francisco Giants at Dodger Stadium.

The Dodgers offense went 12 straight innings without scoring before finally breaking through in the fourth inning of the series finale.

Cody Bellinger lit the spark with a two-out walk against Giants starter Dereck Rodriguez, and then Matt Beaty put an end to the drought with one swing of the bat. His two-run home run to right field gave the Dodgers a 2-0 lead and was good for his ninth longball of the year.

L.A. has already set a National League record with 11 players to reach 10 home runs, and with one more, Beaty will extend that record to 12 players.

The only other three runs of the game came in the fifth inning for the Dodgers. Russell Martin and Joc Pederson both reached base despite not hitting the ball out of the infield, and that set the stage for Corey Seager to hit a three-run home run to straightaway center field.

Seager has finally been coming on at the plate as of late and now has 14 home runs and 69 RBI on the year in addition to 39 doubles, which is one off from his career high.

In what was essentially a bullpen game, the Dodgers pitching staff was stellar in leading the team to a victory on Sunday. Julio Urias got the start but only lasted two innings.

He, along with Kenta Maeda, Casey Sadler, Yimi Garcia, Adam Kolared and Josh Sborz combined to allow just four hits while striking out 11 against only one walk.

In just his second relief appearance since being moved to the bullpen, Maeda tossed four shutout innings while striking out six.
