Dodgers Highlights: Julio Urías, Freddie Freeman & Hanser Alberto Stand Out Against Phillies

The Los Angeles Dodgers extended their winning streak to six games by starting off their road trip by defeating the Philadelphia Phillies, 4-1. After staving off a series sweep last week, the Dodgers have now won two in a row against the Phillies.

Both of those have come without Bryce Harper as he continues to recover after receiving a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection to treat a slight tear in the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right elbow.

The Phillies lineup certainly could have used the reigning National League MVP, as they were shut out by Julio Urías. He bounced back from struggling against Philadelphia last week to hold them to just two hits and collect five strikeouts over five innings.

Urías was provided an early lead thanks to the Dodgers reversing their fortunes against Ranger Suárez. He did limit the damage with bases load in the first inning by allowing just one run on a Justin Turner groundout.

The Dodgers made the left-hander work again in the second inning, which included Freddie Freeman delivering a two-run base hit with two outs. L.A. went quiet from there until Freeman single-handedly manufactured a run.

After a leadoff base hit in the ninth inning, Freeman stole second base and took third when the throw went into center field. That set the table for Trea Turner to provide insurance on a sacrifice fly.

After Urías, the Dodgers turned to Yency Almonte, Alex Vesia, Evan Phillips, Phil Bickford and Craig Kimbrel to finish the game.

Vesia stranded a runner he inherited from Almonte with one out in the seventh, and Phillips faced some trouble but left two on when he got Alec Bohm to line out to right field in eighth.

Bickford allowed a pair of two-out doubles in the ninth, which led to the Phillies scoring their lone run and required Kimbrel to enter to close the game.
