Dodgers Highlights: Gavin Lux, Mookie Betts & Kevin Kiermaier Home Runs Against Cardinals

The Los Angeles Dodgers received home runs from Gavin Lux, Mookie Betts and Kevin Kiermaier to outslug the St. Louis Cardinals in a 7-6 win that snapped their two-game losing streak.

Lux’s solo blast put the Dodgers ahead in the second inning, but it wasn’t without some help as Victor Scott II went up to make a leaping catch at the wall, only for the ball to pop out of his glove.

After a one-out double from Miguel Rojas, Kiermaier drove in the Dodgers’ second run of the inning with a base hit.

The Cardinals scored two runs run in the bottom of the second, one in the third and another in the fifth to jump ahead 4-2. But L.A. immediately responded with a five-run sixth inning.

The Dodgers’ comeback started with Betts’ leadoff home run and the rest came together with two outs. Miguel Rojas’ RBI single tied the game and Kiermaier’s three-run home run put the Dodgers ahead for good.

St. Louis did manage to score two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning before the Dodgers bullpen stabilized to finish out the 7-6 win.

The game ended with Michael Kopech converting his first save with the team. Manager Dave Roberts recently said Kopech could receive consideration for the closer role down the line.

Kopech became the 12th different Dodgers pitcher with a save this season, tying a franchise record that was originally set in 2022.
