Dodgers Highlights: Edwin Ríos, Mookie Betts & Trea Turner Hit Home Runs Against Diamondbacks

The Los Angeles Dodgers were outhit by the Arizona Diamondbacks but received home runs from Edwin Ríos, Mookie Betts and Trea Turner in a 6-4 win at Chase Field. L.A. has won six of eight on their road trip thus far and six in a row against Arizona.

Facing Madison Bumgarner for a second time in 11 days, the Dodgers put a two-out rally together to take an early lead. Justin Turner led off the second inning with a walk and was nearly stranded before Hanser Alberto hit a two-out single.

That was followed by Ríos getting his hands in on an elevated fastball to lift a three-run home run out to right field. The homer was Ríos’ sixth of the year as he continues to take advantage of recent opportunities to start.

The blast was the first of back-to-back shots as Betts pulled a solo shot to left field. That gave him the National League lead with 13 home runs this season.

The Dodgers then went three innings without scoring but put another up on the board behind Trea Turner’s RBI single in the sixth. He added to their lead in the seventh inning with a solo home run.

Turner extended his hitting streak to an MLB-best 19 games, and now has three separate stretches of hitting safely in at least 16 contests since being traded to the Dodgers last season.

Dodgers bullpen hangs on

Brusdar Graterol inherited a bases-loaded jam from Ryan Pepiot and allowed one run to score before getting through the fifth inning. Alex Vesia was tagged for a run in the seventh and Craig Kimbrel allowed two in the ninth.
