Dodgers Highlights: Andrew Toles Drives In 2 Against Padres In Season Debut

The Los Angeles Dodgers got back in the win column on Monday night as their offense exploded for eight runs to help defeat the San Diego Padres, 8-2, at Petco Park.

Monday marked the 2018 season debut of Andrew Toles, who was called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City after Yasiel Puig was placed on the disabled list.

Toles was a very productive player for the Dodgers in 2016 and the beginning of 2017 before going down with a season-ending knee injury. He looked like his old self in his return to the big leagues, going 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and two RBI.

His big hit of the night came in the fourth inning went he went the other way to drive in two with a double that went over Wil Myers’ head in left field. He also showed off his speed in that same inning, scoring on a ground ball to second base even with the infield drawn in.

The Dodgers offense scored five runs in that fourth inning, and that was more than enough for Clayton Kershaw, who looks to be returning to his pre-injury form.

Kershaw tossed six shutout innings against San Diego, a team he has historically dominated, giving up just two singles and one walk while striking out five.

Justin Turner and Cody Bellinger both had strong games at the plate for Los Angeles, gathering three hits apiece. Turner put the nail in the coffin with a two-run single in the eighth inning.
