After a pair of lackluster performances, the Los Angeles Dodgers got back on track Monday night, slugging two doubles and four home runs in a 9-4 win over the Colorado Rockies in their penultimate game at Coors Field this season.

In just his third game batting leadoff all year, A.J. Pollock did not waste any time getting the Dodgers on the scoreboard. He launched the second pitch of the game off Kyle Freeland for a home run to left field, his seventh of the season.

Corey Seager followed that with a single and later scored on a base hit up the middle by Cody Bellinger, who added a double later in the game.

The Dodgers continued to pile on the runs in the second inning as recently-acquired infielder Kristopher Negrón led off with an opposite-field home run. The at-bat was the first in a Dodgers uniform for Negrón after he was acquired in a trade with the Seattle Mariners.

He had just 25 plate appearances for the Mariners this season. While all of the team was still celebrating Negrón’s long ball, Russell Martin, who hadn’t homered since May 19, launched the next pitch over the right-center field wall.

Martin’s third of the season was a missile, traveling an estimated 439 feet.

The final home run of the night came off the bat of Justin Turner in the fourth inning, his 16th. Turner has been heating up at the plate as of late, going deep six times in 17 games since the All-Star break.

In what was a bullpen game with Julio Urias serving as the de facto opener, the Dodgers pitching staff got the job done, which isn’t always easy at Coors Field. Urias only managed to go 2.2 innings but he was backed by a strong collective effort.

Pitching prospect Tony Gonsolin tossed the final four innings to earn his first career save, retiring the first 11 hitters he faced and allowing just three hits and one run overall.
