The Los Angeles Dodgers announced 53,904 were in attendance for Tuesday’s game against the Chicago Cubs. It marked the highest-attended regular season game since Aug. 30, 2012, when the Dodgers faced the Arizona Diamondbacks, also at Dodger Stadium.

The team distributed Kiké Hernandez bobbleheads that commemorated his three-home run performance in Game 5 of the 2017 National League Championship Series for Tuesday’s game. The 2012 contest was also a giveaway night — a Vin Scully bobblehead.

Dodger fans who were in attendance did not leave happy, however, as it was the Cubs that came away with a 9-4 victory, simultaneously snapping their five-game losing streak and the Dodgers’ four-game winning streak.

While it was Hernandez’s bobblehead night, it was his fellow Puerto Rico countryman, Javier Baez, that stole the night. He went 4-for-5 with two home runs, including a grand slam off of Dodgers reliever Edward Paredes in the sixth inning to put the game out of reach.

Breaking attendance records is not something that is new to the Dodgers and Dodger Stadium. They have had over 3 million in home attendance each of the last six seasons, leading the league in five of those.

They are on pace to do that once again as through their first 40 home games they have the highest attendance in the league at 1,846,643. They are followed by the New York Yankees (1,690,671), St. Louis Cardinals (1,670,656) and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (1,506,636).
