The Los Angeles Dodgers called up Brock Stewart from Triple-A Oklahoma City and in corresponding moves placed Kiké Hernandez (left ribcage inflammation) on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 28, and transferred Alex Wood (left posterior elbow soreness) to the 60-day DL.

Stewart, who will wear No. 51, starts Wednesday night in the second of a three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers. He began the 2016 season with High-A Rancho Cucamonga, going 2-0 with a 0.82 ERA and 10 strikeouts over two starts (11 innings pitched).

After a promotion to Double-A Tulsa, he went 3-3 with a 1.60 ERA in nine starts. The right-hander had 62 strikeouts to 10 walks during his time with the Drillers.

Stewart was named to the Texas League All-Star Game, though didn’t participate because Los Angeles aggressively promoted their sixth-round pick from the 2014 Draft to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

In three starts for Oklahoma City, the 24 year old went 3-0 with a 2.89 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 27 strikeouts in 18.2 innings pitched. Stewart becomes the ninth different starting pitcher the Dodgers have used this season.

He joins Kenta Maeda, Ross Stripling and Julio Urias as rookies to start for the Dodgers in 2016. Across the three Minor League levels this season, Stewart is a combined 8-3 with a 1.47 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, 14 walks and 99 strikeouts in 14 starts (86 innings).

Hernandez hit .189/.280/.346 with five doubles, five home runs and 12 RBIs in 65 games. Wood was placed on the 15-day DL on May 31 with what was said to be an impingement in his left elbow. The earliest Wood can return from the DL is July 30.
