Dodgers Broadcaster Dontrelle Willis Excited For Return To SportsNet LA

Dontrelle Willis is returning to the Los Angeles Dodgers television broadcast team for a third season in 2025. This is in addition to his duties as a regular studio and game analyst for Fox Sports 1 and AppleTV+.

A former All-Star and World Series champion, Willis played nine seasons in MLB with the Florida Marlins, Detroit Tigers, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Cincinnati Reds.

Prior to his work as a broadcaster for SportsNet LA, Fox Sports 1 and AppleTV+, the Dodgers hired Willis as a special assistant for the 2021 season. The team believed the former National League Rookie of the Year and two-time All-Star would be an excellent resource for their coaching staff.

It didn’t take long for Willis to transition to a new role, becoming a contributor as a Dodgers broadcaster in 2022. As the start of Spring Training fast approaches, Willis expressed his excitement over another season getting to be part of SportsNet LA coverage:

I want to thank the @Dodgers and @SportsNetLA for allowing me to come back. Love and appreciate the whole Squad

— Dontrelle Willis (@DTrainMLB) January 26, 2025

Willis quickly blossomed in his role, and over the course of his time with the Dodgers had meshed well with Joe Davis, Tim Neverett and Stephen Nelson in the broadcast booth. In the same vein as Orel Hershiser, Willis utilizes his prior experience as an mLB pitcher to provide thoughtful insights on the broadcast.

Willis received an expanded role on Dodgers’ broadcasts in 2023, but did not make any appearances during this past season. Nevertheless, he is set to be back in the booth in 2025, but in what capacity remains to be seen.

SportsNet LA re-airing all 2024 Dodgers postseason wins

With the start of Spring Training on the horizon, SportsNet LA is taking the opportunity to celebrate the Dodgers’ 2024 World Series run one final time before the start of a new season.

They are doing so by airing all 11 of the Dodgers’ postseason wins, with their World Series clincher against the New York Yankees scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 11.
