The Los Angeles Dodgers eliminated the Atlanta Braves from the postseason and now advance to the National League Championship Series for a matchup with the Milwaukee Brewers. Game 1 of the NLCS is set for Friday, Oct. 12, at Miller Park.

Regardless of their opponent in the NL Division Series or potential NLCS, the Brewers secured home-field advantage by virtue of securing the league’s best record at 96-67. They finished one game above the Chicago Cubs, who fell to the Colorado Rockies in the NL Wild Card Game.

The Brewers then completed a sweep of the Rockies in the NLDS, and now are playing for the pennant for only a second time in franchise history. They were eliminated by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2011 NLCS.

During their time in the American League, Milwaukee did play in the 1982 ALCS, defeating the California Angels before losing to the Cardinals in six games in the World Series.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers are in the NLCS for a third consecutive year and are in pursuit of back-to-back appearances in the Fall Classic. They took a 2-0 series lead on the Braves before eliminating them in Game 4 of the NLDS.

The Dodgers extended their franchise records this year by qualifying for the postseason for a sixth straight year and winning the NL West over that same stretch.

Milwaukee and Los Angeles split their six-game regular season series, with both clubs notching two wins at home.
