Dodgers Break Franchise Wins Record For Single Season

The Los Angeles Dodgers broke the franchise wins record for a single season, surpassing the 106 victories the 2019 and 2021 teams amassed. The 2022 Dodgers have 107 wins and seven games remaining to add onto their final total.

They are the first team in MLB history with at least 106 wins in three consecutive full seasons. That stretch has been sandwiched around the shortened 2020 campaign, during which the Dodgers posted a .717 winning percentage that stands as the highest in franchise history.

“It’s amazing,” manager Dave Roberts said of the organization’s recent success. “I didn’t realize that. You’re looking at almost 200 years of baseball.

“It speaks to the consistency, excellence and standard that we’ve set here at the Dodgers. It takes a lot of people to accomplish what we’ve done over parts of the last four years. There’s a lot of people that deserve the credit.”

Prior to the current stretch, the 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers held the franchise wins record of 105. Overall, there have been 10 Dodgers teams to reached at least 100 wins in a single season. However, none of those clubs also went on to win the World Series in the same year.

Of that group, only the 1941, 1953, 1974 and 2017 teams reached the Fall Classic.

Earlier this season, L.A. became the first team to both 90 and 100 wins. They also clinched the National League West faster than other team in Dodgers franchise history.

Prior to 2017, the only 100-win seasons for the Dodgers since moving from Brooklyn were in 1962 and 1974.

Dodgers make MLB history

The Dodgers additionally became the first team in MLB history to have more wins the season after posting 106 victories.

More history could be made if they sweep a six-game series against the Colorado Rockies to finish 59-22 at home. That would tie with the 2019 Dodgers for most wins at Dodger Stadium in a single season.
