The Los Angeles Dodgers (69-38) took two of three games from the Washington Nationals over the weekend and now visit the Colorado Rockies (49-57), looking to remain the best team in baseball while moving closer to their seventh straight National League West title.

The Dodgers open the three-game divisional series on Monday as consensus -140 road favorites (bet $140 to win $100) on the MLB odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com, completing a six-game trip before returning for a 10-game homestand.

Los Angeles fell to 29-24 away from Dodger Stadium with an 11-4 loss on Sunday after winning the first two games by a combined score of 13-5. Walker Buehler suffered just his second loss of the season for the Dodgers, who will turn to Kenta Maeda (7-7, 3.81 ERA) in an effort to get back on track against the Rockies.

However, Maeda has not gone at least six innings in a game since July 6 against the San Diego Padres. He went 4.1 innings last time out versus the Los Angeles Angels at home last Tuesday and gave up three runs and four hits with two walks and seven strikeouts, throwing 95 pitches in a 5-4 loss.

Countering for Colorado is Jon Gray (9-7, 4.05 ERA) after his team dropped two of three to the Cincinnati Reds. The Rockies have also lost five of their last seven games along with 11 of 14 to put them in the cellar of the NL West.

Gray has not earned a victory since June 29, but the team he beat was the Dodgers at Coors Field. He allowed two earned runs and seven hits in 6.2 innings with two walks and eight strikeouts.

Colorado has actually won two of the past three meetings with Los Angeles following a 12-game series losing streak, cashing as solid home underdogs at online betting sites both times, according to the OddsShark MLB Database.

The OVER is on a 4-1-1 run in the previous six games between the teams as well, with less than nine runs scored only once during that stretch. However, with a high total here in the series opener, it is also worth noting that more than nine runs have been scored three times in the last six meetings.
