Dodgers Arbitration Rumors: Brusdar Graterol Agrees To Contract For 2025 Season

The Los Angeles Dodgers made expected decisions with their arbitration-eligible players, which included tendering a contract to Brusdar Graterol at the deadline last November.

The Dodgers also did so with Anthony Banda, Brusdar Graterol, Michael Kopech, Evan Phillips and Alex Vesia. That kept each player on the 40-man roster and under team control, but still needing an official contract for at least the 2025 season.

Thursday at 10 a.m. PT was the deadline for players and teams to exchange salary figures, which generated plenty of activity.

According to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, Graterol and the Dodgers agreed to a one-year contract to avoid arbitration:

Graterol was going through arbitration for a second time in his career, and did so while on the mend from right shoulder surgery. Hip trouble and right shoulder inflammation limited Graterol to just seven games last season.

Graterol returned in time for the World Series and pitched in three games against the New York Yankees.

MLB Trade Rumors projected a $2.7 million salary for Graterol.

When will Brusdar Graterol pitch in 2025?

Upon announcing Graterol underwent offseason surgery, the Dodgers indicated he is expected to miss at least the first half of the 2025 season.

Such a scenario unfolded last year as Graterol struggled with injuries during Spring Training and his recovery process took longer than anticipated. Multiple setbacks delayed Graterol’s 2024 debut until Aug. 6.

His return to the mound was short-lived as Graterol suffered a right hamstring strain that night that put him back on the injured list for another month.
