Dodgers Activate Kenta Maeda From 10-Day Disabled List, Option Daniel Corcino To Triple-A Oklahoma City

The Los Angeles Dodgers activated Kenta Maeda off the 10-day disabled list and optioned Daniel Corcino back to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Maeda starts Wednesday night against the Texas Rangers.

He last pitched on May 29 against the Philadelphia Phillies but was removed after just 1.2 innings due to a hip injury. Given that Maeda spent just two weeks on the disabled list, he did not require any rehab starts before being activated.

Getting Maeda back is much-needed for the Dodgers considering they have a whole rotation full of starters currently on the disabled list, with the most recent being rookie sensation Walker Buehler going down with a right rib microfracture.

Maeda has been one of the Dodgers’ best starters this season, as he’s 4-4 with a 3.61 ERA, 2.83 FIP and 1.28 WHIP in 11 games (10 starts). He has struck out 68 hitters compared to 18 walks in 52.1 innings.

Corcino’s first stint of the season with the Dodgers did not last long, although it was a memorable one. He recorded his first career Major League save in Tuesday night’s victory over the Rangers, tossing the final three innings of the game.

Corcino appeared in two games for the Dodgers, giving up two hits and two runs (one earned) in four innings (2.25 ERA) while striking out one and walking three. Given his ability to both start and pitch out of the bullpen, this likely won’t be his only time up with the Major League club.

For the time being though, Corcino heads back to Oklahoma City where he has posted a 1.95 ERA in 10 appearances (six starts) this season.
