Hudson had been out since August 7 with right forearm tightness. Fortunately, the two-time recipient of Tommy John Surgery did not have a more serious injury.

Hudson has been mediocre during his time with the Dodgers. He currently holds a 3.92 ERA, 4.19 FIP and 1.24 WHIP over 43.2 innings pitched.

He is in his first season with the Dodgers after spending time with the Chicago White Sox, Arizona Diamondbacks and Pittsburgh Pirates. As mentioned above, Hudson has struggled with arm problems throughout his career, only appearing in 12 games between 2011 and 2015.

Hudson will try to help turn around a bullpen that has imploded after Jansen landed on the DL with an irregular heartbeat. Since then, Dodgers relievers allowed 14 runs over 19 innings, good for a 6.50 ERA, 4.44 FIP and 1.28 WHIP. The team blew multiple late leads and wasted quality starts from Walker Buehler and Clayton Kershaw over a recent five-game losing streak.

Goeddel recently missed time with the same issue and made just one appearance, tossing 1.1 shutout innings on Aug. 15 against the San Francisco Giants, before landing back on the disabled list.

Overall in 31 appearances this season between the Dodgers and Mariners, Goeddel has posted a 2.95 ERA, 3.90 FIP and 1.26 WHIP. He has 44 strikeouts compared to 20 walks in 36.2 innings.
