Wood is scheduled to start Tuesday night’s game against San Francisco after missing the minimum 10 days with an adductor injury. He left his last start against the Houston Astros due to hamstring cramps.

In 22 starts this season, Wood is 7-6 with a 3.58 ERA, 3.55 FIP and 1.17 WHIP while striking out 107 and walking 30 in 123.1 innings. He is 6-1 with a 2.48 ERA in his last nine starts, so he will look to pick up where he left off before going on the disabled list.

Axford suffered his leg injury during Sunday’s relief appearance against the Colorado Rockies when he was hit by a comebacker. He wound up staying in the game, although it was revealed after Monday’s loss that there was a fracture and he would require a disabled list stint.

The Dodgers acquired Axford from the Toronto Blue Jays just before the non-waiver trade deadline. After a rough Dodgers debut in which he gave up six runs while only recording one out, Axford bounced back to toss three shutout innings across two appearances over the weekend in Colorado.

Overall in 48 games this season between the Blue Jays and Dodgers, Axford has pitched to a 5.13 ERA, 3.99 FIP and 1.29 WHIP while striking out 54 and walking 22 in 54.1 innings.

There hasn’t been a set timetable placed on Axford yet, although he is expected to miss around three weeks.
