It concluded with the Dodgers World Series champions flag being raised in center field and the unveiling of the new 2024 plaque displayed next to the rest of the franchise’s championship years down the right field line.
While the ring ceremony is typically the same day as the banner raising when teams celebrate a championship, the Dodgers split it into two days. Players are set to receive their rings on Friday.
“I do like it,” Roberts said. “I think it gives the fans an opportunity to have something unique and special for two days in a row. Where it’s all encompassing potentially on one day, Opening Day is special.
“And then the fans that aren’t here today but can come tomorrow, they get something as well. So I think it’s great what the Dodgers did to allow fans to get a couple unique experiences.”
