It’s been over three weeks since the Los Angeles Dodgers won the 2020 World Series, and it still remains a fond talking point within the fanbase. After looking at the Dodgers’ comeback in the National League Championship Series, “DodgerHeads” turned its attention to the Fall Classic.
Host Jeff Spiegel and DodgerBlue.com managing editor Matthew Moreno walked through all the minute details and highlights from the six games against the Tampa Bay Rays. Included in that was a referendum on Clayton Kershaw, though Spiegel still wondered if his Game 1 start was being overlooked.
The two also discussed how important World Series MVP Corey Seager was, all-around contributions from Mookie Betts, and the Dodgers bullpen rising to the occasion. The group of relief pitchers were particularly impressive in Game 6 after Tony Gonsolin again struggled.
The live show featured a giveaway of Jackie Robinson Day batting gloves, courtesy of Franklin. Moreno didn’t fare well during the trivia portion, but his guesses were in line with those from other viewers.
To conclude, Spiegel and Moreno took a question about how the 2020 Dodgers roster compares to prior teams. Neither could definitively say this was the best Dodgers team, which Vin Scully and Jaime Jarrín have claimed, but they also wouldn’t necessarily dispute that.
Dodgers trading for Nolan Arenado?
In what’s sure to become a focal point of a “DodgerHeads” episode, the Dodgers reportedly have interest in completing a Nolan Arenado trade. L.A. has been linked to the All-Star third baseman in the past, only for the Colorado Rockies to remain steadfast in their refusal to deal within the NL West.
However, the Rockies now face financial concerns brought on by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, along with Arenado holding an opt-out after the 2021 season. Those factors have many believing the Rockies now will move forward with trading Arenado this offseason.
