The Los Angeles Dodgers are celebrating the 60th anniversary of Dodger Stadium this season with a host of new commemorative items on display throughout the ballpark.

Among them include a bronze statue of Sandy Koufax that will be unveiled in the center field plaza on Saturday, June 18, prior to a game against the Cleveland Guardians. The sculpture will join a bronze statue of Jackie Robinson, which was unveiled on the left field reserve level in 2017 before being moved to the center field plaza as part of the Dodger Stadium renovations.

Also new this season are memorabilia exhibits for fans to view, including the addition of new members to the “Legends of Dodger Baseball” and the newly adorned 1962 display lockers. Maury Wills became the fourth member of the “Legends of Dodger Baseball,” joining Steve Garvey, Don Newcombe and Fernando Valenzuela, who each were part of the inaugural class in 2019.

There is also a Breaking Barriers” exhibit on loan from the Negro League Baseball Museum in Kansas City, Mo, which Dodgers fans can view underneath the right field pavilion.

A second Negro League Baseball exhibit on loan from Gary Cypres will be on display near the stadium club entrance in right field featuring bronze figures of baseball greats including Satchel Paige and Josh Gibson.

What’s more, fans who visit Dodger Stadium this season will notice new murals depicted on the left and right field sides of the ballpark featuring the 60th anniversary logo, and Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson, who broke the color barrier 75 years ago when he joined the Dodgers in Brooklyn.

Additional amenities at Dodger Stadium this season include club renovations and seat re-branding, updated restrooms, and a variety of new food and drink options.

The 99-day MLB lockout gave the Dodger Stadium grounds crew a unique opportunity to revamp the infield and outfield grass. Dodger Stadium head groundskeeper Jordan Lorenz revealed that both the outfield and infield grass were replaced, marking the first complete makeover since 2016.

Lorenz noted the turf was acquired from the Indio and Palm Springs, Calif. area, where the grass is more heat-tolerant. The project was completed in March and the entire cost to replace the Dodger Stadium grass was $200,000.
