After taking the first game of a day-night doubleheader at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers look to extend their winning streak to six games and clinch a series victory against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Prior to first pitch, the Dodgers activated Tyler Anderson off the paternity list and optioned Andre Jackson to Triple-A Oklahoma City. The left-hander and his wife Taitym welcomed their third child, a son, over the weekend.

Anderson is coming off a stellar start against the Diamondbacks on Sept. 12 in which he allowed five hits over seven shutout innings and collected two strikeouts.

Anderson improved to 15-3 with a career-best 2.62 ERA, 3.41 FIP and 1.03 WHIP in 161.2 innings pitched this season (27 games, 25 starts). The 2022 All-Star owns a 6-3 record with a 4.81 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in 17 career games against the Diamondbacks (15 starts).

Arizona counters with Drey Jameson, who is making only the second start of his MLB career. He allowed just two hits over seven scoreless innings in his big league against the San Diego Padres last week.

Jameson went 7-13 with a 6.31 ERA and 1.49 WHIP in 26 games between the Diamondbacks’ Double-A and Triple-A affiliates this season (25 starts).

Trea Turner remains in the Dodgers lineup despite being removed early in the first game of a doubleheader shortly after getting hit by an errant throw from Miguel Vargas. “I think he’s fine,” manager Dave Roberts said after the Dodgers’ comeback win.

“It was more precautionary. I’m not sure where he got hit, but I just felt it was best. He’s going to play the second game, so thought to get him out of there and get Hanser a couple at-bats.”
