Coming off a historic win, the Los Angeles Dodgers now look to take the series from the Arizona Diamondbacks and head into the All-Star break with momentum. L.A. also can improve to 9-1 against Arizona this season.

Following Sunday’s game, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, his coaching staff, Walker Buehler, Max Muncy, Chris Taylor and Justin Turner will depart for Denver to take part in the 2021 All-Star Game. Mookie Betts also was named to the National League team, but has elected to rest instead.

While the Dodgers are hoping to take a small winning streak into the break, Tony Gonsolin is also looking for some traction on an individual level. Gonsolin is coming off his best start of the season as held the Miami Marlins scoreless over 5.1 innings.

The right-hander was much more efficient than he had been so far in 2021 and only issued one walk. Gonsolin enters 1-0 with a 2.11 ERA in six starts this year and continues to get healthier after dealing with some shoulder fatigue upon coming off the 60-day injured list.

When Gonsolin faced the Diamondbacks June 20 at Chase Field, he went 3.2 innings and allowed one run on three hits.

The Diamondbacks counter with Merrill Kelly, who is 5-7 with a 4.60 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 18 starts. One of those outings came at Dodger Stadium, where Kelly allowed three runs on six hits over seven innings and took a loss.

The Dodgers’ lineup includes four of the six players who hit at least one home run Saturday night — Betts, Cody Bellinger, AJ Pollock and Turner.
