Trea Turner, Magic Johnson Supporting Rams On Super Bowl Run

Much like the Los Angeles Dodgers eliminating the San Francisco Giants with a thrilling victory in Game 5 of the National League Division Series, the Los Angeles Rams got the better of their Northern California rival by defeating the San Francisco 49ers.

The Rams took a 7-0 lead in the second quarter but went into halftime trailing by a field goal and their deficit grew to 17-7 heading into the final 12 minutes of the game. Matthew Stafford and Matt Gay helped contribute to a 20-17 comeback win in the NFC Championship Game.

Heading into the highly anticipated matchup at SoFi Stadium, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts offered words of encouragement and support through a video message that featured the team’s 2020 World Series trophy.

Then as the Rams were putting the finishing touches on their exhilarating victory, Trea Turner and Dodgers part-owner Magic Johnson shared their own messages for the Super Bowl LVI run.

Johnson has been somewhat of a regular at Rams games since their move back to L.A., and on Sunday he was accompanied in a suite by Roberts and Dodgers executive vice president and chief marketing officer Lon Rosen, among others.

From members of ownership to players, the Dodgers have regularly shown their support for the Rams and L.A. Lakers. Mookie Betts just attended the Rams’ playoff win against the Arizona Cardinals.

Dodgers, Rams got last laugh

The Dodgers eliminating the Giants from the postseason was a bit of revenge as their streak of National League West titles was snapped at eight years in a row. Similarly, the Rams ended a six-game losing streak to the 49ers and atoned for a collapse at home in Week 18.

Now the Rams are scheduled to face the upset-minded Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl 56 on Sunday, February 13. It marks a second time in NFL history a team will play the Super Bowl in their home stadium.

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were first to accomplish the feat with Super Bowl 55 last year.
