Dalton Rushing Headlines MLB Pipeline’s List Of Top Dodgers Prospects For 2024 Season

The MLB Pipeline list of top Los Angeles Dodgers prospects for the 2024 season is headlined by Dalton Rushing and he’s followed by Nick Frasso, both of whom made the publication’s ranking of the top 100 overall.

Rushing was a first-round pick by the Dodgers in the 2022 MLB Draft. He has quickly risen up the organizational ranks and seems to be the Dodgers’ heir apparent to Will Smith at the catching position.

Rushing does have quite a bit of one true outcome to his game as he had a .228 batting average in 89 games last season with Single-A Great Lakes. That was accompanied by an .856 on-base plus slugging percentage, 18 doubles, 15 home runs and 72 walks.

Frasso was acquired by the Dodgers in a 2022 that trade that sent Mitch White to the Toronto Blue Jays. In 21 starts for Double-A Tulsa last year, Frasso posted a 3.91 ERA with 94 strikeouts in 73.2 innings.

He earned a promotion to Triple-A Oklahoma City, where Frasso threw 19.1 innings with a 3.26 ERA and 13 strikeouts.

Andy Pages, Josue De Paula, and River Ryan did not make MLB Pipeline’s top 100 list, but round out the top five ranking of Dodgers prospects.

Pages’ injury-shortened 2023 caused his fall out of MLB Pipeline’s top 100. He was previously the No. 81 prospect in baseball and was on track to continue his climb before the injury. So far, Pages has been a standout for the Dodgers in Cactus League play. He has a .471 batting average, 1.571 OPS, two home runs and nine RBI.

De Paula was an international signing by the Dodgers out of the Dominican Republic for $397,500 in January 2022 and has flashed tremendous offensive upside. As an 18-year-old he hit .284/.396/.372 with the Loons last season.

Ryan is another trade acquisition who has blossomed in the Dodgers farm system. He was originally an 11th-round pick by the San Diego Padres and later traded to the Dodgers for Matt Beaty. Ryan made the move to be a full-time pitcher after his trade to the Dodgers, and has grown exponentially.

Pages could end up making his MLB debut at some point this season, and Ryan could as well but 2025 may be more likely unless the Dodgers are in desperate need of pitching. Frasso and Rushing are expected to debut in 2025, while De Paula is estimated to arrive in 2026.

Other Dodgers prospects who didn’t make MLB Pipeline’s top 100 but are expected to contribute to the Major League level in 2024 include Gavin Stone (No. 6), Kyle Hurt (No. 7) and Landon Knack (No. 14).
