Over his nine seasons at the Major League level, Corey Seager has proven himself as one of the premiere hitters in MLB, and one of the best offensive shortstops in the live ball era.

Over the course of his career, Seager is hitting .292/.361/.512 with a 134 wRC+, which ranks as the seventh-best mark of all-time among qualified shortstops since 1920.

His success has continued into the postseason with a career .250/.346/.481 slash line with a 122 wRC+. Most notably, he carried the Los Angeles Dodgers to a World Series title in 2020, winning the World Series MVP and National League Championship MVP.

During that run, Seager hit an otherworldly .328/.425/.746 with eight home runs, 20 runs scored, 20 RBI and a 203 wRC+ across 18 games. In the 2020 NLCS alone, Seager hit five home runs in seven games while driving in 11 runs.

After the 2021 season, Seager joined the Texas Rangers on a 10-year, $325 million contract, and during the 2023 season he put together his best season to date, batting .327/.390/.623 with a 169 wRC+.

That production helped the Rangers earn a postseason spot, where they have since advanced to the American League Championship Series.

Although the Rangers were blown out by the Houston Astros in Game 4 of the series, 10-3, to tie them at two games each, Seager blasted a home run that tied the game in the third inning.

With that home run, Seager became the first shortstop in MLB history to hit home runs in both the NLCS and the ALCS.

He now has eight home runs in LCS play total, with seven of them coming for the Dodgers, which also includes two in 2021. In total, Seager has 15 total home runs across 70 postseason games.

He is also part of another rare list of players who have homered in the AL and NL Division Series, the AL and NL Championship Series and the World Series.

Seager joined Jim Leyritz, John Olerued, Gary Sheffield, Manny Ramírez, Raúl Ibañez, Kiké Hernández, Anthony Rizzo and Kyle Schwarber as the only players to have accomplished that feat.

The only postseason round Seager has yet to homer in is the American League Wild Card series.

Corey Seager ‘appreciated’ time with Dodgers

Seager was selected by the Dodgers with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2012 MLB Draft and he went on to make his big league debut three years later.

During his time in L.A. he was named the unanimous NL Rookie of the Year Award winner in 2016, was selected to two All-Star Games, won a pair of Silver Sluggers, and of course had his postseason success.

In addition to accolades, Seager said he is grateful for the lifelong friendships made during his time in L.A. and all the moments he had during his career with the Dodgers.
