Los Angeles Dodgers’ High-A affiliate Rancho Cucamonga Quakes announced they will distribute seven premium giveaways during the 2020 season, leading off with a Cody Bellinger bobblehead on Friday, April 24.

The bobblehead will recognize the trio of accolades Bellinger earned this offseason, including 2019 National League MVP honors, his Gold Glove Award in right field and a Silver Slugger Award.

The Quakes plan to honor Bellinger with a second bobblehead at a later date, although he will share this one with Los Angeles Angels star and 2019 American League MVP winner Mike Trout.

The Quakes are the first known team in Minor League Baseball history to have two former prospects take home MVP honors in the same season. Trout played for the organization in 2010 while Bellinger spent the entire 2015 campaign with High-A Rancho Cucamonga.

An additional trio of Dodgers players in Gavin Lux, Dustin May and Will Smith round out the Quakes’ bobblehead portion of their giveaways.

Lux appeared in 88 games for the Quakes in 2018, hitting .324/.396/.520 with 41 extra-base hits over 404 plate appearances. May spent parts of the 2017-18 seasons with High-A Rancho Cucamonga, compiling an overall 7-3 record, 3.05 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in 109.1 innings pitched.

Smith played for the Quakes in 2016-17, batting .228/.348/.412 with 13 home runs and 55 RBI across 420 opportunities.

Along with the five bobbleheads, the Quakes will dole out a Walker Buehler replica jersey. The right-hander pitched for High-A Rancho Cucamonga over parts of the 2017-18 seasons, posting a minuscule 1.40 ERA and 0.83 WHIP with 32 strikeouts in 19.1 innings of work (six starts).

The Quakes also revealed they will give away team baseball caps later in the season. The seven premium giveaway games are included in the Quakes Guaranteed Giveaway program, an exclusive add-on to any of the Quakes ticket plan options.

The Quakes officially open up the 2020 season at LoanMart Field on Thursday, April 9. They look to begin the year on a strong note following a loss to the Lake Elsinore Storm in Game 4 of the 2019 California League playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers have 18 bobblehead dates on their 2020 promotional and giveaways calendar.
