Clayton Kershaw world champion t-shirt night has been added to the 2021 Los Angeles Dodgers giveaways and promotional schedule for Aug. 19, replacing the Trevor Bauer bobblehead.

The Dodgers recently removed Bauer’s bobblehead from their promotional calendar as he remains under investigation by the Pasadena Police Department and Major League Baseball for alleged sexual assault. Bauer merchandise has additionally been taken out of stores at Dodger Stadium and the team’s online website.

MLB placed Bauer on administrative leave at the beginning of the month and it twice has been extended, with approval and consent from the Players Association. The latest period runs through July 27, which is four days after Bauer is due to appear at a court hearing regarding the temporary restraining order that is currently in place.

Kershaw’s t-shirt night is the lone giveaway he is part of this season. In other years he has been distributed to fans in the form of a bobblehead and replica jersey.

While Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman has made it clear his hope is for Kershaw to remain with the organization until retiring, this could be his final season with the team. In February, Friedman said the Dodgers and Kershaw had not yet discussed a contract extension.

Following the 2018 season, the two parties worked together on what eventually became a three-year, $93 million contract extension. It came after Kershaw exercised the opt-out clause included in the seven-year deal he signed prior to the 2014 campaign.

2021 Dodgers giveaways and promotional schedule

When the Dodgers initially announced their giveaways schedule for this season, it included 10 bobblehead dates. That’s now been reduced to nine, with six remaining.

Additional giveaways still upcoming include a zip-up hooded sweatshirt (Aug. 16) and replica World Series ring giveaway (Aug. 18).
