Cody Bellinger struggled for most of the 2021 season, but he provided several memorable moments along the way, including a walk-off home run against the Chicago Cubs on June 26.

The game-winning blast was ranked No. 5 on the list of best Los Angeles Dodgers plays from the 2021 season by the DodgerBlue.com staff.

The Dodgers jumped out to an early 2-0 advantage but saw that lead evaporate when the Cubs put up a pair of runs in the fourth and fifth innings. The game remained tied into the bottom of the ninth when reliever Keegan Thompson entered for Chicago.

The right-hander retired AJ Pollock and Matt Beaty on an efficient four pitches before Bellinger stepped up to the plate for his second at-bat. The 2020 National League MVP came off the bench in the seventh inning as part of a double switch and flew out to deep center field.

After getting ahead of the count, Bellinger sent a 3-1 cutter into the right-center field bleachers to lift the Dodgers to a 3-2 win. The ball traveled an estimated 422 feet.

It was the first of three walk-off wins for L.A. in the regular season this year. The walk-off home run also marked the third of Bellinger’s career.

Hampered by injuries early on, the blast was only Bellinger’s second of the season. He finished the year with 10 and hit just .165/.240/.302 in 95 games.
