Major League Baseball had a successful All-Star Week at Globe Life Field in 2024, which included the unveiling of a reformatted Home Run Derby and having a momentum-filled Midsummer Classic game between both leagues.
The National League fell to the American League in a 5-3 loss, marking the 10th time in the last 11 years they have been defeated.
Looking ahead, MLB is in the market to continue their selection of great baseball cities for the showcase week. According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Baltimore Orioles are considered the favorite to host the 2029 MLB All-Star Game at Camden Yards:
The Toronto Blue Jays, Chicago Cubs, and Baltimore Orioles are the favorites to host the All-Star Game in 2027, 2028 and 2029.
The Toronto Blue Jays have a recently-renovated Rodgers Centre to put on display, and the nostalgia of Wrigley Field makes the Chicago Cubs another enticing pick. For the Orioles, it’s about a long time coming, having not hosted the All-Star Game since 1993, one year after Camden Yards opened.
Baltimore’s only other instance of hosting an All-Star Game was in 1958 at Memorial Stadium. The Orioles receiving the honor again in 2029 could come under new MLB leadership, however.
Commissioner Rob Manfred anticipates awarding MLB All-Star Games for 2027 and 2028 before retiring.

The Orioles endured an incredibly long and slow rebuild leading up to their current surge to relevancy. Systematically tanking for years put them in position to land high draft picks, but also developing those players is another sight to behold.

Baltimore is a baseball city, as evidenced by the resurgence in attendance with the team playing a fun and youthful brand of baseball. The possible decision to host an All-Star Game at Orioles park at Camden Yards is a play to keep excitement as high as possible.
