Freddie Freeman joined the Los Angeles Dodgers prior to the 2022 season by signing a long-term commitment following 12 years with the Atlanta Braves.

Freeman has since been every bit of the same player he was with Atlanta, and the respect level within both organizations is off the charts.

Freeman has played against his former teammates several times now, and with each return to Truist Park, Braves fans show their appreciation with standing ovations.

Before Friday’s game, Freeman, and his family were presented with a special gift in his son’s name, a donation to the GBS/CIDP Foundation from of the Braves organization.

In late July, Max Freeman endured a battle with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare neurological disorder. The harrowing experience was followed by Freddie taking time away from the Dodgers to be with his son, who has since made incredible steps toward recovery.

The miraculous turnaround for Max coincided with a wave of support from fans, the Dodgers, and his teammates, who wore blue t-shirts with “#MaxStrong” across the chest.

On Sept. 7, Max attended his first Dodgers game since he was hospitalized, accompanied by his brothers Charlie and Brandon John, and their mother Chelsea.

Freddie Freeman’s time with the Braves

In 12 years with the Braves, Freeman was a five-time National League All-Star, a three-time Silver Slugger, an MVP in 2020, and a World Series Champion in 2021, his final season there.

In 1565 games, he batted .295/.384//509 with 367 doubles, 271 home runs, and 776 walks.

His imprint on the Braves franchise has a lifetime of memories, en route to him being a future Hall of Fame player.
