The Los Angeles Dodgers are listed as -178 betting favorites on the MLB odds for Tuesday night at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com as they open a three-game series at Dodger Stadium against the Oakland Athletics with the regular season winding down.

Having already clinched a postseason berth, and with some breathing room in the National League West standings over the San Diego Padres, the Dodgers enter Tuesday’s matchup with wins in five of their last six games. However, the one defeat in that stretch came on the road at Colorado last time out on Sunday, when they fell 6-3 as heavy -200 favorites at online betting sites. The Dodgers own a 38-16 overall record, good for a .704 win percentage.

Dustin May (1-1, 2.68 ERA) will get the ball for the Dodgers on Tuesday night, and he’s coming off a no-decision against the Padres last time out in which he allowed three runs (one earned) on three hits over 5.1 innings of work. The right-hander hasn’t given up more than two earned runs in any outing so far this season, but has just one victory over his nine starts.

Frankie Montas (3-4, 5.86 ERA) heads to the hill for the Athletics on Tuesday night, with the right-hander surrendering four runs on seven hits in his 5.1 innings of work last time out against the Rangers. Montas has allowed four or more runs in four of his last five outings.

Wednesday’s pitching matchup is expected to be Julio Urias (3-0, 3.49 ERA) for the Dodgers against Sean Manaea (4-3, 4.50 ERA) for the Athletics. Urias settled for a no-decision against the Rockies in his most recent outing, giving up just two runs on three hits in 5.2 innings of work in that start. Left-hander Manaea has won four of his last five starts.

On Thursday it’s Mike Fiers (6-2, 4.67 ERA) as the probable pitcher for Oakland, while Walker Buehler (1-0, 3.86 ERA) is in line to start for the Dodgers if recovered from his blister issue.

After taking on the Athletics early this week the Dodgers will play host to the L.A. Angels on the weekend to close out their regular-season schedule. The Dodgers will then open up their Wild Card Series against a still-to-be-determined opponent next Wednesday.
